"Coosa Valley Academy and Wilcox Academy split a doubleheader in the AISA Class 2A state playoffs Wednesday in Harpersville, but the outcome of Wilcox Academy's 11-6 win in game two is in doubt.
Wilcox pitcher Chase Felts pitched six innings in the Wildcats' 3-2 loss in the opener, then two innings in relief in the second game to get the save.
Coosa Valley coach Kevin Oakes protested after Felts' first pitch in the seventh, claiming it violated the AISA rule that states a pitcher may pitch a maximum of seven innings or make two pitching appearances on consecutive days."
