The Passing of Stephanie Hughes

I received this e-mail message from a reader:

I thought I would let you know that Stephanie Hughes from Sycamore died a few weeks ago. I am not sure of the circumstances surrounding her death. She was in the class of 1993, but I am not certain if she graduated. She was married and had two children. I know that members of that class would want to know.

Our condolences go out to Stephanie's family.

The cost is $100 per brick and $50 for each additional brick within the same family. 3 lines with 14 characeters per brick.

If you are interested, e-mail me and I can put you in touch with Sheila. My address is MNPayne "at" cvaalumni.com.

CVA Wins Game 2 Protest vs. Wilcox

According to this morning's edition of The Birmingham News:

"The AISA on Thursday upheld a protest by Coosa Valley Academy from Wednesday's Class 2A baseball playoffs, giving the Rebels a forfeit win over Wilcox Academy in the second game of the best-of-three series.

That win, combined with Coosa Valley's 3-2 win in game one, sends the Rebels (21-11) to the AISA Final Four in Selma. Coosa Valley will play Thursday at either 11 a.m. or 1 p.m., depending on the seeding in the four-team bracket."

CVA Baseball: Game 2 Under Protest

As the reported this morning in The Birmingham News:

"Coosa Valley Academy and Wilcox Academy split a doubleheader in the AISA Class 2A state playoffs Wednesday in Harpersville, but the outcome of Wilcox Academy's 11-6 win in game two is in doubt.

Wilcox pitcher Chase Felts pitched six innings in the Wildcats' 3-2 loss in the opener, then two innings in relief in the second game to get the save.

Coosa Valley coach Kevin Oakes protested after Felts' first pitch in the seventh, claiming it violated the AISA rule that states a pitcher may pitch a maximum of seven innings or make two pitching appearances on consecutive days."
